About Eiyō
Eiyō (栄養) is Japanese for nourishment. We make clear, practical eating plans for common health conditions, so you can see what a day of eating well looks like.
Menus a dietitian has checked
Each menu follows a named eating pattern, such as DASH or Mediterranean, at a set calorie level. A registered dietitian reviews and signs off on every menu before it is published, and the sign-off date is shown on the menu.
Portions you can picture
Amounts are given in everyday measures like cups and ounces, with grams alongside. The pictures show each food at its real size, so a serving looks the way it would on your plate.
Where the numbers come from
Nutrient values come from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's FoodData Central database. Percent Daily Values use the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Daily Values for adults and children 4 years and older.
A week you can shop for
Every menu covers seven days and comes with a grocery list for the week, added up across all the meals.
Not medical advice
This is a sample menu for general education, not individual medical or nutrition advice. Your needs depend on your health, medications, and goals. Talk with your doctor or a registered dietitian before changing your diet.
